Synopsis

In a future Tokyo where humans spontaneously ignite and transform into flame-driven demons called Infernals, the Special Fire Force exists to put them to rest and investigate the cause. Shinra Kusakabe joins Company 8 with the dream of becoming a hero — and the ability to ignite his feet and move at explosive speeds. What begins as supernatural firefighting gradually reveals a conspiracy connecting the Infernal phenomenon to something ancient, divine, and deeply connected to why Shinra's family burned years ago. Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai, Atsushi Ohnuma) is 304 chapters, complete in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The anime (David Production, Seasons 1–2) adapts the first two major arcs. It shares the same universe as Soul Eater — discovering the connection is one of the manga's most satisfying payoffs.
