Synopsis

Ajin are immortal beings — people who cannot stay dead, who revive from any wound within seconds and possess the ability to summon powerful invisible entities called IBM. Society treats them as specimens to be detained and studied indefinitely. When Kei Nagai is hit by a truck, dies, and immediately revives, he discovers he's been one without knowing it — and the government is already mobilizing to collect him. Ajin: Demi-Human (Gamon Sakurai) is 86 chapters, complete in Good! Afternoon magazine. It's a tightly constructed sci-fi thriller that examines the ethics of how society treats those it fears with genuine ambivalence rather than easy answers. The CGI anime (Polygon Pictures, Seasons 1–2) adapts the first half of the story; the manga is the complete version. Available through Vertical Comics.
