Synopsis
Natsuo is in love with his cheerful, popular teacher Hina — the standard impossible crush. After a one-night encounter with Rui, a girl he met at a party who wanted to experience her first time with someone low-stakes, he wakes up to discover his widowed father is remarrying. His new stepsisters: Hina and Rui. Domestic na Kanojo (Kei Sasuga) runs 282 chapters in Weekly Shonen Magazine and is the most compelling argument for the domestic drama sub-genre in manga — not because the premise is subtle, but because Sasuga refuses to take easy exits. Characters make real choices with consequences that stick. Relationships that should be resolved early aren't, because real feelings don't work that way. The anime adaptation (Diomedéa, 2019) is widely credited with reviving interest in the manga. Complete.
