One morning, Miko Yotsuya woke up able to see them. Horrifying, grotesque, impossible-to-describe creatures that move through normal space without anyone else noticing — at the bus stop, in the school bathroom, crowding around other people like atmosphere made flesh. Miko's survival strategy is immediate and terrifyingly sensible: don't react. Don't acknowledge them. If they don't know she can see them, maybe they won't do whatever is implied by the way they're looking at her. Mieruko-chan (Tomoki Izumi) is a masterfully calibrated horror-comedy that generates most of its horror from the reader's imagination — we see the creatures Miko sees, but since she can't express her fear, the comedy of her forced normalcy runs directly alongside the horror of what she's looking at. **Ongoing in Monthly Comic Ryuu (Tokuma Shoten). Available through Yen Press in English.**
